Messaging Policy
How HomeWise Agent sends maintenance reminder texts and emails. This works together with our Terms and Privacy Policy.
Who sends messages
HomeWise Agent LLC sends reminders under the HomeWise Agent name, using our business phone number and email domain—not from your personal cell number or personal email.
A message may say it is on behalf of the homeowner or landlord who set up the reminder.
Who receives them
Only the phone numbers and email addresses you add to a reminder get that reminder's notifications.
You must have each person's permission to contact them. In the app, you confirm that before saving recipients.
SMS: opt out and opt back in
- Recipients can reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to stop all HomeWise SMS to that number.
- After STOP, we will not text that number again until they reply START, UNSTOP, or YES from the same phone.
- Adding the number again in the app does not undo a STOP—the recipient must text START.
- Texts may include "Reply STOP to opt out" where required.
Marking a task complete (no account needed)
Reminder contacts—tenants, family, or anyone on the notification list—can mark a task done without signing in.
- Email — use the Mark complete button, then confirm on the next page. The link is signed for that reminder and your email address.
- SMS — reply DONE when finished to mark the reminder complete.
Only people listed on that reminder can use these options. The homeowner can still mark tasks complete in the app.
Email: unsubscribe and resubscribe
Reminder emails include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribed addresses will not get further reminder emails until they resubscribe using the link on the unsubscribe confirmation page (or the same signed link with /api/public/email-resubscribe instead of email-unsubscribe).
When messages go out
- Due reminders — usually once on the due date, in the morning in your account timezone.
- Test sends — only when you tap Send test in the app.
Carrier charges
Recipients may owe standard SMS or data charges from their carrier. HomeWise does not bill recipients for messages.
Help
Account owners: use in-app support. Recipients: reply STOP to opt out of SMS, or contact us through the app for other questions.
